Tablet PCs Vs Other Computers

Tablet PCs are fast gaining popularity and they are the new in thing in the world of technology. With a tablet one is able to do more as compared to when he or she is using a netbook. The size of a tablet is smaller thus it is easier to carry around unlike laptops. With tablet PCs one can easily do their job while walking. Some people prefer using tablets as opposed to eReaders since they accommodate eReaders application and programs and other applications.

A tablet PC works the same as a laptop but it is smaller in size and it does not have the traditional keyboard style of the laptops and other desktop computers unless one chooses to attach it. Tablet PCs are typically flat screens which have a virtual keyboard appearing on the screen. For inputting applications one has options provided to them. One can either choose to use a stylus pen or touch using fingers. However, almost all of tablets available have multi-touch features used for zooming, flipping of pages and scrolling through.

Due to the rising popularity of the tablets many companies are rushing to produce their own version of the tablets. In today's market there are diverse versions of tablet PCs from world renowned computer manufacturers.

Use of touchscreen has also played a critical role in the rise of tablets as the preferred option of computer enthusiasts. Touch and multi-touchscreen features allow one to have a variety of options that do not come with keyboards. Tablets that use stylus pens often recognize handwriting. Touchscreen features make a computer more user -friendly since they are perceptive. Using a stylus or touchscreen often brings a lot of enjoyment to a user as opposed to using a traditional mouse and keyboard.

Although tablets are user-friendly they have some demerits. A tablet is more often than not more expensive than a laptop but the prices are slowly going down. The lack of keyboards make typing input levels in tablets lower than with other computers. However, tablets come with additional keyboard accessories. Another demerit of using the stylus and touchscreen features is that there is a risk of damage to the screen. The fact that a tablet can be carried around also presents tablet PC users with a risk of damage from unwarranted impacts.

The rise in use of tablets is set to increase with more and more people choosing them as their preferred computers. Unless a new age of computer comes up, the tablets will remain top of the class in computers and technology.
