Confusion in any procurement application monitoring

The majority of organizations use a network monitoring system to monitor the information technology infrastructure. Superior network will track monitoring tools for system uptime, bandwidth usage and track-to-end system performance. While this type of monitoring solution is useful when network problems occur it doesn't help when there is any problem with any application. Information technology institutions that require multiple applications to support their business as a whole. A device to monitor these applications saved lives when things go wrong. And let's take a closer look why it is necessary to apply the monitoring systems, and application monitoring solutions available.

Why application monitor required

Application tracking application monitoring tools that don't work properly, even if users are able to access it. For example, suddenly users cannot access e-mail. You will be notified, send alert monitoring system on a dashboard that service does not work. Will be able to determine the speed troubles with smooth performance of applications organizations information technology system, and at the same time providing better services to users.

Will offer you a quick overview of your applications and reports, trend analysis of performance end to end application monitoring to identify areas of growth. All this information is necessary when it comes to planning, and address a problem before it causes major disruptions.

Solutions for application performance monitoring

There are a wide range of options to choose from, when it comes to finding application monitoring solution. It depends entirely on your needs. There are separate applications for monitoring systems and enterprise monitoring solutions that can monitor multiple systems on your network. Also available open source applications and commercial applications. Below are some features you should look for before you decide what best fits your needs

Performance management: you can look for a product that offers much to monitor parameters such as CPU, memory, and response time etc.

The Web console: ensure that you will be able to access the console from a browser as the easiest way to manage applications.

System alert: look for a different type of alerts according to your needs. Email alert syslog, SMB traps, some types of text message alert.

The roles management: search for different roles such as administrator, operator management, user, etc.

Accelerating Application Deployments Using Oracle VM for X86

Oracle VM is Oracle's x86 cloud computing and server virtualization solution that offers comprehensive virtual machine and application deployment options. Oracle is the only vendor in the entire x86 virtualization market that offers pre-packaged virtual machine templates with production ready Oracle applications on a production ready operating system.

It allows you to eliminate the time-consuming processes of installing, configuring and deploying software and applications, manually. Deployment of applications in virtualized environments also provides additional benefits of consolidation, flexibility and cloud computing.

Oracle VM provides five unique options for accelerating application deployments:
1. Virtual Machine Cloning
2. VM Templates
3. VM Template Builder
4. Virtual Assembly Builder
5. JRockit Virtual Edition

Virtual Machine Cloning
Oracle VM Manager offers virtual machine cloning as an image management feature. A virtual machine saved as a clone or a template, can be redeployed rapidly as an unique new virtual machine or as a copy of the original virtual machine, unlimited number of times, thus eliminating the entire time-consuming process of operating system installation and configuration. The VM manager saves virtual machine clones and templates as sparse images. The sparse clones eliminate additional time consumed to save disk space while creating clones, by allocating storage only when needed.

VM Templates
Oracle VM Template program, offers self-contained and preconfigured virtual machines using Linux with key Oracle technologies. Once downloaded from the Linux eDelivery portal, these templates can be redeployed unlimited number of times as new virtual machines. The VM templates, reduce the application deployment timelines, by replacing the time-consuming process of installing operating systems and other technologies. The prepackaged Oracle technologies in the templates range from stand-alone operating systems to virtualization and management solutions, including database & real application clusters (RAC), middleware, etc.

VM Template Builder
The VM Template builder is a free open source product that is a value add to Oracle VM for x86. It allows you to generate preconfigured VM template using JeOS (just enough operating system) with Oracle and non-Oracle applications. Applications can be preconfigured in VM templates using the VM template builder. These templates can be redeployed rapidly, multiple number of times, thus shortening the application deployments. These templates contain configurable initial boot-time metadata to ensure that all templates have unique configurations for the prepackaged applications.

Virtual Assembly Builder
The Virtual Assembly Builder enables profiling physical or virtual multi-tier Oracle Fusion Middleware reference environments into VM template assemblies. Each collection of VM templates are called assemblies and contain preconfigured JeOS virtual machines. These templates are designed to be configured at the initial boot time, thus allowing each assembly to have unique operating system and application configurations respectively.

JRockit Virtual Edition
Oracle JRockit Virtual Edition is the "ultimate" virtual appliance product that contains a fully featured WebLogic Server 11g environment that runs directly on the VM hypervisor without an OS. It enables rapid deployment of mission critical Java applications with enhanced density, performance and ease of management. The JRockit eliminates the requirement for an operating system thereby saving system resources as well as costs to install and support it. Without an operating system, the WebLogic server on JRockit Virtual Edition offers increased performance of Java applications by up to 30% and decrease the size of footprints by up to 500 times, compared to the deployments using a traditional operating system.

Confused On Which Application Monitoring System to Buy

Majority of enterprises use some type of network monitoring system to monitor their IT infrastructure. A superior network monitoring system will track tools for uptime, bandwidth usage and track end-to-end system performance. While this type of monitoring solution is useful when issues occur on the network it doesn't help when there is any issue with any application. IT organizations require multiple applications to support their entire business. Having the devices in place to monitor these applications is a life saver when things go wrong. Let's have a closer look why application monitoring systems are required and what are the available application monitoring solutions.

Why Application Monitoring Required

Application monitoring tools track those applications which are not functioning properly, even if users are able to access it. For instance, all of a sudden your users cannot access email. A monitoring system will notify you or send an alert on a dashboard that a service is not working. Being able to rapidly identify troubles with organizations applications will allow the smooth functioning of the IT system and at the same time deliver better services to the users.

End to end application monitoring will offer you a quick overview of your applications, trend reports, performance analysis and identify growth areas. All these information is necessary when it comes to planning, addressing SLA's and fixing troubles before it cause major outages.

Solutions for Monitoring Application Performance

There is a wide variety of options to choose from, when it comes to finding an application monitoring solution. It entirely depends on your needs. There are standalone applications for monitoring single systems and there are enterprise monitoring solutions that can monitor multiple systems on your network. NTG - PlayBook Application Development and Training

Seeing that tablet computers are the latest thing and that many people are hooked to it, RIM's chief executive officer Mike Lazaridis finally revealed BlackBerry's answer to the iPad - the Playbook.

They proved themselves unbeatable ever since they launched the BlackBerry line of smart phones. A lot of people, from famous celebrities and well-known politicians to the common average people, are now sporting BlackBerry phones. Many actually considered the BlackBerry as one of the best and functional smart phones ever created. Now comes the Playbook. This BlackBerry tablet makes use of the same operating system developed by QNX technology.

The Playbook performs a lot of platforms and technologies, some of which include the following AIR, Java, Abode Flash, BlackBerry 6, Webkit/HTML5, POSIX OS, SMP, and Open GL. It is also equipped with RIM's newest BlackBerry WebWorks platform. With that, the Playbook gained the title of being the 'fastest tablet ever' created by RIM.

Aside from its strong operating system and multiple platforms, it has fairly good storage space at 1GB RAM, 5 megapixel rear lens perfect for those who want to do video conferencing, 3 megapixel front-facing camera. It has 'horsepower' for multi-tasking with its Cortex A9 dual-core 1GHz processor. You can open several programs all at the same time and it will not affect the performance. It will not hang or lag. The Playbook is capable of video recording as well as transferring of files through the Bluetooth or WiFi.

For those who are fond of watching videos, movies, and listening to songs, you will never worry about if the files will be compatible or not. The BlackBerry Playbook can play videos at full speed and whatever format - MPEG, DivX, HD, or WMV. File extensions for audio playback is also easy. You can listen to WMA, MP3, and AAC songs wherever and whenever you want.

One of the advantages of the Playbook over the iPad is that it is much smaller and compact.Weighing exactly at 0.9 pounds or 400g, it is definitely lighter than the iPad but bigger and heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab. It measures only 7-inches, about half the size of iPad. This will enable you to easily tote your table computer everywhere and you will never worry about it fitting in your bag. The developers are actually dropping hints that they are developing 3G and 4G models of Playbook in the future. For avid readers, you will be more than happy to know that the Playbook will feature a Kindle App that will enable you to read all the books that you want.

Another edge of it is that for sites with Flash that do not usually run on the iPad tablet will be viewable in the Playbook. RIM promises to open Playbook's Adobe AIR to provide users with uncompromised web experience. This means that you will get to enjoy all the websites that you want to visit without thinking of whether you will be able to access the sites. The Playbook is definitely more lenient when it comes to the programs that are allowed compared to the iPad.
